ISRO achieved new mile stone.Today ISRO (The Indian Space Research Organisation) launched 20 satellites successfully in a single mission from its Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. This was ISRO’s biggest mission ever. Till date ISRO has launched 57 foreign satellites successfully. This is first time any space center launched 20 satellites in a single mission. In 2008 ISRO had launched 10 satellites in a single rocket. Day by day ISRO achieving new mile stone. ISRO launched GSLV Mark III in very low cost on December 18, 2014.
Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi also congratulated the ISRO scientists on their achievement. In a tweet, he tweet “20 satellites in a go! @isro continues to break new barriers. Hearty congratulations to our scientists on the monumental accomplishment.”
The 725.5 kg-weighing Cartosat-2 series satellite would be used for Earth observation. According to ISRO, the imagery sent by the satellite will be useful for cartographic applications, urban and rural applications, coastal land use and regulation, utility management like road networking.
